Hudson, NH – Another busy weekend has come and gone at Cyclones Academy. Once again, our Academy teams took to the ice in the State of New Hampshire as they barrel towards the end of February. 15U and 16U Elite both scored big victories on the weekend, while all of our teams were in action.

Here’s a look back at the weekend that was at Cyclones Academy!

15U: Coach Chris Zuccaro’s team has really found their groove in 2021. They only took the ice once this past weekend, but made it count on Saturday against Bishop Guertin JV. 15U knocked off Bishop Guertin by a final score of 5-1, winning their third straight game in the process.

Nick Blanchette, Kaiden Cianci, Owen Cross, Cam Diluzio and Levi Strunk all scored in the win for 15U, which is now 14-11-1 on the season

16U Elite: Coach Greg Lenti’s team split the weekend with a 1-1-0 record. They opened it up with a big victory on Saturday, doubling up the New England Wolves by a final score of 4-2. Brady Stevens, Cole Curtiss, Kell Kirtley and Emmit Sullivan lit the lamp in the win, which was 16U Elite’s second in a row.

The weekend concluded with a loss, however. Returning home after a big win on Saturday, 16U Elite dropped a tightly contested 3-2 decision to the New Hampshire Monarchs at Cyclones Arena on Sunday. Jory Veenstra and Kirtley both scored in the defeat.

16U Premier: Coach Tim Plummer’s team also split a pair of games this weekend with the Wolves and Monarchs. The results, however, were flipped. On Saturday, 16U Premier knocked off the Monarchs by a final score of 3-1 at Cyclones Arena. Joey Lomtevas lit the lamp twice, while Justus Harrison tacked on a goal of his own. Henry McRoberts assisted on all three goals in the win, while Derek McGrew, Alex German and Ian Fries also collected helpers.

On Sunday, however, the defense wasn’t as stout. The Wolves fired seven goals home, defeating 16U Premier by a final score of 7-3 at Merrill Fay Arena.

18U Elite: It was a relatively quiet weekend for 18U Elite, who played just once. On Sunday night, 18U Elite was blanked by a final score of 3-0 against Cyclones 18U Prep at Cyclones Arena.

18U Premier: Just like with 18U Elite, it was a short weekend for Coach JT Henke’s team that ended on Thursday afternoon. Over at Tri-Town Ice Arena, 18U Premier was doubled up by a final score of 4-2 against the New Hampshire Monarchs. The loss came on the heels of a 3-1 victory for 18U Premier just four days earlier against the Monarchs at Cyclones Arena.
