Congratulations to 2002 Forward and Premier Assistant Captain Connor Crawford on this recent commitment to Suffolk University for the fall of 2023!

Connor joined the Cyclones this season after playing multiple juniors between different leagues around the country. This year Connor joined the Cyclones for two reasons, to get a college commitment and to win a Championship. Connor accomplished both this past year!

Connor help lead the Cyclones to the USPHL Premier National Championship and finished with a stat line of 14-14-28 in 36 games including playoffs.

When asked about his recent commitment and his time with the Cyclones, Crawford had this to say, "

"The journey I had in my last year of junior hockey could not have been scripted any better than with the Northern Cyclones. I enjoyed every moment this year at the Cyclones Dorm, the academy, and most of all at Cyclones Arena. The bonds and friendships I have made this year will last forever, as so will this team and organization being National Champions! I cannot thank Coach Bill Weiand enough for his commitment and work-ethic towards the NC logo, and to every player individually by influencing our development and teaching us life lessons we will forever live by and remember. I would not be in the position I am today without him, which is being a National Champion and committed in my age-out season. I would also like to thank coach Fred Hein for his commitment to our team in so many ways. From the 7am skills skate, to helping us look good on the ice to feel more confident. Everything you have taught us this year will stay with me for the rest of my life, and there is not a single skills coach that does it like you. Lastly, to the rest of this organization. We are family. From Tim Plummer and all of the elite guys, to Coach Paul and Burns, you made me feel at home and played a huge role in my success this year. It has been an absolute pleasure and honor to be a Northern Cyclone, and could not thank everyone enough for making my age-out season one to remember for the rest of my life. "

"I found Suffolk University by accident while exploring Boston with a couple of the guys early in the season. Right way, I fell in love with the school. The campus being engulfed in downtown Boston is an absolute dream, as I have always wanted to live in Boston since I was young. The incredible education I will be getting is super exciting, and cannot wait to get on campus. After fracturing my L3 on my spine on January 21st, I thought my season was over. After only 49 days of recovery and PT, I was able to fully return to playing, and competed in every game at the National Championship. From thinking my season and career was over, to throwing my gloves at the final buzzer at Nationals. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity given to me by Coach Shawn Maceachern, and looking forward to representing the blue and gold! Go Rams! "
