Cyclones Premier F Tyler Westfall Commits To Framingham State!

The Northern Cyclones organization is thrilled to announce that USPHL Premier F Tyler Westfall has committed to play his college hockey career at Framingham State!  Westfall will join the Rams in the fall and begin his college career next season.

A native of Annadale, VA, Westfall spent three seasons with the Cyclones organization. Westfall finished this past season with 3 goals, 14 assists, and 17 points total in 36 games played.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue my academic and athletic career at Framingham State University. First, I would just like to thank my family for supporting me in every way they could despite the distance and unique path that I decided to take. They were always there for me and I couldn’t have done any of this without them. Secondly, I’d like to give Cyclones all the credit they deserve for their role in getting me to the next level. I have spent three years with the Northern Cyclones organization, one year on elite and two on Premier. Through that time, I have learned what a first-class junior organization they truly are. Their faculties are bar none, and the teammates I have had over the years have grown into life-long friends. The success of the cyclones year in and year out is a testament to Coach Weiand’s, as well as the other coaches, ability to not only bring in talented players but also mold them into great teams. I especially want to thank Coach Weiand, for taking me in and giving me a chance to achieve a childhood dream. The culture of professionalism, hard work, support, and family has made me feel prepared to take on the challenge of playing at the next level. I am in many ways very upset I’ll never be able to dawn the Cyclones jersey ever again, because of the amazing and once-in-a-lifetime experiences I’ve gained from this organization.”

Westfall and Cyclones Premier finished the 2020-21 USPHL regular season with a record of 27-10-1. Their 55 points were good for third in the New England Division, while their .724 points percentage was second. Premier swept the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs 2-0 in a best-of-three First Round Series earlier in March.

“I look forward to my future at Framingham and beyond and thank the Cyclones and Coach Weiand for the lessons and knowledge that they have gifted me with as I move forward.”

Westfall is the seventh player this season from Premier to commit. He joins captains Ben Peterson (Saint Anselm) and Oscar Richardson (Salem State University), along D Tommy Buis (Post University), D Jordan Rosenbaum (Suny-Brockport), F Danny Woods (Salem State University), and G Trevor Wong (Saint John’s University).
