Cyclones Premier G Trevor Wong Commits to Saint John's University!

Hudson, NH - The Northern Cyclones organization is thrilled to announce that USPHL Premier G Trevor Wong has committed to play his college hockey career at Saint Johns University! Wong will join the Johnnies in the fall and begin his college career next season.

A native of Wayzata, Minnesota, Wong just completed his first season with the Cyclones organization. Wong finished the season with a 1.88 GAA and a .926 SV% in 21 games played.

Prior to joining the Cyclones, Wong spent the 2019-20 season with the Omaha AAA Hockey Club 18U of 18U AAA.

“I am honored by the opportunity to further my academic and athletic career at Saint Johns University. I want to thank Coach Bill Weiand and the Northern Cyclones for everything. There is no better place to play in the USPHL. The Cyclones allowed me to experience juniors and take those next steps towards college hockey. Everything from equipment management to the way the pandemic was handled was met with unmatched professionalism. Coach Weiand connected me with college coaches and helped find a good fit. Coach Weiand cares about his players as more than hockey players but as people too. Combined with my teammates, there is a culture of family and success. From just my one season there, I have a ton of life lasting memories.”

Wong and Cyclones Premier finished the 2020-21 USPHL regular season with a record of 27-10-1. Their 55 points were good for third in the New England Division, while their .724 points percentage was second. Premier swept the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs 2-0 in a best-of-three First Round Series earlier in March.

“I am proud to be a clone. Thank you to everyone who helped me get to this point.”

Wong is the sixth player this season from Premier to commit. He joins captains Ben Peterson (Saint Anselm) and Oscar Richardson (Salem State University), along D Tommy Buis (Post University), D Jordan Rosenbaum (Suny-Brockport) and F Danny Woods (Salem State University).
