Hudson, NH – Another week has come and gone in this unique 2020-21 hockey season. All eight teams between the Northern Cyclones Junior and Academy programs took the ice during the week ending on February 14th. The Junior teams wound down their stay in Hub City Tampa, while Academy teams grinded out game action in New Hampshire. With so many games and victories, it should be no surprise that there were some sensational personal performances.

Without further ado, here are the Cyclones ‘Players of The Week, Presented by St. Joseph Hospital’ for the week ending February 14th!

This week, USPHL Premier forward Riley Ott and 18U Premier forward Carter Brunelle take home the honors! Premier went 3-1-0 in Hub City Tampa, while 18U Premier went 1-2-0 in a three-game weekend. They defeated the New Hampshire Monarchs 3-1 on February 14th for their lone win of the weekend.

Ott was outstanding for Premier, scoring points in all three victories for the team. He picked up a pair of assists on both February 8th and February 11th. On the 8th, the Cyclones doubled up the Utica Junior Comets by a score of 6-3. On February 11th, it was an 8-0 drubbing of the PAL Junior Islanders.

The real headline grabber for Ott, however, was on Saturday. Ott sniped home a career-high four goals in a 5-1 victory over the Skipjacks Hockey Club. The performance helped Premier bank two crucial points in the final days of Hub City Tampa. In all, Ott scored eight points (4 g, 4 a) in four games during the week.

Brunelle, meanwhile, continues to have a hot stick for Coach JT Henke. He scored four points this past weekend, lighting the lamp twice and adding a pair of helpers. For Brunelle, scoring goals is just coming easy. He’s scored in six straight games that he has been in the lineup for, giving 18U Premier a true threat up front.

18U Premier went 1-2-0 on the weekend, dropping a 5-3 decision to the Monarchs on Friday before beating them 3-1 on Sunday. On Saturday, 18U Premier fell 3-1 to Berwick Academy.

They’ll return to the ice for a home-and-home set with the Monarchs this weekend. Game one is set for Thursday at 2:50 pm at Tri-Town, while the second game will be at Cyclones Arena at 1:30 pm on Sunday afternoon.
